Dexter Details ("Dexter," "we," "us") helps homeowners keep an objective, verifiable record of their home. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have — including how to delete your account and all of your data.
Information we collect
- Account: name, email, and authentication data (via Clerk).
- Home records you add: property details, appliances, systems, maintenance history, warranties, permits, notes, and documents, photos and videos you upload.
- Utility data: gas and electric usage, if you connect a utility account (via Bayou).
- Approximate location: a property address you enter, and the coordinates/imagery used to measure your roof, lawn and pool (via Google Maps/Solar) when you request an Aerial View.
- Ownership verification: if you choose to verify ownership, we use Equifax Property Insights, which is address-keyed. We do not collect your Social Security Number.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We do not store your full card number.
- Usage: basic app/service logs to keep the service reliable and secure.
How we use it
- To provide the app — store and organize your home records and show them back to you.
- To power features you invoke: AI schedules/insights and the "Ask Dexter" assistant, provider search, aerial measurements, ROV letters, and ownership verification.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To send you service and security notifications.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-app advertising or tracking.
AI features
When you use AI features, the relevant home data is sent to Anthropic (Claude) to generate the response. It is not used to train models. Dexter helps you make your case with documented evidence; it does not guarantee any appraisal, sale, or appeal outcome.

Data retention & deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all of its data at any time: in the app, open the menu → Delete Account. This immediately cancels any subscription and erases your profile, your homes and everything in them (appliances, documents, photos, maintenance, utility data, aerial measurements, ROV letters), and any access you shared with guests. Homes you transferred to someone else belong to the new owner and are not affected. If you can't access the app, email support@dexterdetails.com and we'll delete it for you. Security
Data is encrypted in transit; files are served only through short-lived signed URLs; and access to your records is restricted to you (and anyone you explicitly share with).
Children
Dexter is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
